I think the best idea for the I Pad 2 would be for them to auction it off for the Guides so the money can go back into the youth of Australia. I loved being in the guides in my younger days & so did my daughter & anything that can raise funds for them i am in it. Cheers & good luck….. ))
l remember my girl guide days, l had lots of fun learning things l wouldn’t have otherwise & remember the national camp that was a great experience.
i love it too!
I can’t believe after all these years that the guides still manage to attract young people. It beats them sitting at home and getting into trouble, good job to all you leaders for your hard work and dedication.
Did my time as a Guide and Ranger … best days of growing up and it set me on the right path as an adult. Every girl should have the chance to be a Guide. Proud to have worn the uniform.
Great organisation providing great things for girls to do. Hope they are here for many years yet
Associations like the girl guides provide a great outlet for kids as much today as they have for decades before. Hope they continue for decades to come.

This wasn’t a difficult task at all! I was a Brownie and Guide myself and my 15 year old is now in senior guides (her 9th year in Guides) and is a junior leader and working on her Queen’s Guide award. Girl Guides is a wonderfully positive group for young women and girls today.
My favourite sister was a brownie leader and my niece a girl guide, still love the cookies and loved the stories they would tell of their adventures.

I was a good Brownie – in fact my initials are LAH – Lend A Hand – Brownies and Girl Guides are great.
I was a Girl Guide, when I first came to Australia in 1957, a girl down the road invited me to come along and I stayed for 4 years, became a Pack guide for 2 years.
When my daughter turned 8 years old I joined in with the brownies and became a Brown Owl. I stayed with the Brownies for 10 years, we had great times, and I took the Brownies on Pack Holidays every year for a weekend. We spend one Pack holiday at a sheep farm in the shearers quarters, even went on a Hay ride and chased some sheep on the back of a motor bike.
Girl guides is a grea foundation for learning practical skills. I loved my guide days not that there were that many of them I was eventually a patrol leader which was great for skills later on
Good Luck girls keep up the good work.
My daughter was in the guides and I was a leader for a short time. It was a great experience for both of us.

Can’t wait until my granddaughter is old enough to join the girl guides. Im hoping it will keep her pointed in the right direction to becoming a good human being who is a caring, sharing and compassionate woman in later life. Promoting anything for the younger children to do instead of roaming the streets or malls is the best idea ever and the GG have been around for ages and will be for ever i think .
A very good organisation! Keep up the good work – great for all ages and cultures!
what a great way to enable young women to have confidence and life skills for their future
As an almost retired leader – the past 30 years have been some of the most rewarding and fun of my adult life. Guiding is not just for the young – it’s also for the young at heart. I have learnt and laughed along side of the young and loved every minute of it. Go guiding!!!
got no chance during my time, this is good for young girls to shape them to adulthood
It would help my 7 year old doughter so much if I won this for her she could learn so much I have no idea how to use computers so if she had 1 it would keep her up2 date aspecially for school
I was a guide when younger, its great there still around.
when i was young the girl guides gave us something to do and also tought as about some skills.Glad they are still around.
Looking back now, growing up in a small country town. Being a Brownie then a Girl Guide, gave me the chance to interact with kids my own age and complete tasks to recieve a new patch for my uniform sleeve. Go Girl Guides!!

Guiding is a family tradition..my mother, myself, my 2 daughters and 3 grand daughters have all moved up through the movement, some of us becoming leaders. It has helped produce 3 generations (so far!) of confident, responsible women who are well prepared to lead their families into to future
I was a leader for over 16 years and these were the best times. I loved watching the girls learn and achieve and have made many lifelong friends. I miss my time there with the girls but i have wonderful memories.

Sadly I was never a GG, but many of my friends were. Just back from Honolulu where I bought a packet of GG bikkies from their stall at the market. They were very interested to hear that I buy them in Australia as well.
Think its time for a new and fresher approach to target the young girls of today… so step it up and show the energy is still there!!!!
I was in the girl guides many many years ago and I loved it. I made lots of friends and learned many skills.go girls
Any organisation which embodies altruistic values and empowers our young women to be champions in their own right, along life’s often challenging journey must be supported and congratulated.
you go girls
yo go girls
Was A Guid for a while when I was very young had a great time. The Guides do a wounderful cause to help the younger girls. I think there should be some sort of Guide
subjects in the schools to help the ones with not much self conferdence
I’m in Japan at the moment two prefectures below the epicentre of the quake, I’m sure my time as a Brownie, Girl Guide and Junior leader is helping me be prepared and stay safe and well.

fond memories of Brownies & guides, great to hear that it is still a strong basis for girls to learn many of lifes basics plus good values. xx
I remember with great fondness my days as a Girl Guide in South Australia in the 1950′s and 60′s. It was an awesome experience that helped me be what I am today. I am forevery grateful to Lady Baden Powell (whom I met in Adelaide)!
I was bullied by older girls when I was with the girl guides this is not a happy memory for me! I’d love to win the Ipad though. I have a herotic story about saving a girl from the cold she fell in frezzing water and I was the only one to lend a towel. When it came to shower time I asked my leaders for a lend of a towel and they told me it was my fault I helped that girl
I still can’t believe all this had happened to me. Im sure things have changed!

In a world filled with media star trashyness and a loss of traditional skills and care for others, the GGs provide an alternative way for young girls.
